But I remember when I started trying to do more with Perl, especially involving arrays. I could never quite remember the syntax for array manipulations, and had difficulty figuring out what the actual internal model for arrays was - how were they stored, when were they being copied vs. passed by reference, etc? Someone eventually p ointed me to Python.
